Da qualche giorno si parla della possibilitá di spostare Arnau all'ultima zona dell'unitá intensiva, l'ultimo passo prima del rientro a casa.

Mancavano peró due controlli importanti: una ulteriore ecografia di controllo dell'evoluzione dell'ematoma e un verifica della grande ferita sulla testa, che tarda a cicatrizzare.
L'ecografia l'hanno fatta questa mattina: una ecografia coi fiocchi, con una quantitá di dettagli che non avevamo mai visto. Speriamo dia tutte le informazioni necessarie, lo sapremo probabilmente domani.
La cicatrice l'ha vista la neurochirurga oggi pomeriggio, ha tolto tutte le graffette metalliche (ci ha chiesto di uscire, l'abbiamo assecondata, piú che altro per farla lavorare tranquillamente, anche se saremmo rimasti volentieri). La ferita sta tardando troppo a chiudersi, é per via della fretta con cui si era dovuta completare l'operazione e chiudere il taglio tre settimane fa, per cui le graffette non facevano piú il loro lavoro.
Vediamo l'evoluzione in queste 24 ore e se resiste. Altrimenti forse domani Arnau ripassa rapidamente in camera operatoria per sistemare la ferita per bene, con nuovi punti. Non dovrebbe essere niente di troppo complicato, ma potrebbe aggiungere vari giorni al rientro a casa.
Alla fine della giornata Arnau era esausto, é stato sveglio per ore e il lavoro sulla ferita non é stato molto rilassante per lui.

In the last few days, there have been talks about moving Arnau to the last section of the intensive care unit, the last step before going back home.

That was pending a couple of important checks: one more ultrasound scan to see the evolution of the hematoma, and a detailed check of the big wound on the head, which is taking too long to heal.
The ultrasound scan was done this mornng, the most detailed scan we've ever seen: let's hope it'll provide all the necessary information. We'll most likely know tomorrow.
The wound was checked this afternoon by the neurosurgeon, who decided that it was time to remove all the metallic staples and see what was really going on. It appears that the problem is indeed the speed at which they had to conclude the surgery to stabilize Arnau 3 weeks ago, at which point the wound was the least of the problems. We'll see how it evolves in the next 24 hour and if it holds, otherwise there's a chance that tomorrow little Arnau will be back in the surgery room to fix the wound the right way with new stitches. It should not be anything too complex, but it might add several days to Arnau's stay in the hospital.
At the end of the day, Arnay was super tired: he's been awake for several hours, and the removal of the staples was not the most relaxing experience for him.
