"Semicritics"

Oggi, sabato, é stato un altro giorno positivo per Arnau.
Ha fatto ben 4 poppate (grazie alla mamma che ha passato un sacco di tempo in ospedale).
Ormai tutto il cibo che riceve é via bocca, niente piú sonda gastrica, niente piú nutrienti in vena.
In tarda giornata, anche gli antibiotici sono stati tolti.
Ormai gli unici cavi che rimangono sono i sensori.
Nel pomeriggio, trasloco dall'unitá di bimbi "critici" all'unitá dei "semicritici": é solo qualche metro piú in lá, peró la differenza si nota. Molte meno apparecchiature, bimbi quasi tutti a termine (mamma mia come strillano), qualche attenzione in meno.
In generale, sembra stare bene e mangiare bene, anche se ogni tanto gli fa un po' male la testa, cosa che non stupisce visto ció che ha passato e che in pochi giorni sono stati tolti tutti i calmanti. Speriamo non sia niente di piú.
Gli rimane una cicatrice enorme nel cranio, la testa con una forma un po' strana e un po' di buchi e ferite che stanno guarendo in fretta.
Non ci rimane che aspettare un paio di giorni in piú per avere risultati di nuove analisi e la decisione se operare o no.

Today, Saturday, was another positive day for Arnau.
Food is now almost entirely breast feeding: today 4 times with mom, who spent almost the entire day in the hospital.
No more gastric tube, no more intravenous nutrients, no more antibiotics.
The only cables left are the standard sensors.
In the afternoon, the move from the area of newborns in "critical" conditions to the area of those in "semi-critical" conditions.
Overall, Arnau seems to feel and eat well, even if sometimes his head hurts a bit, not a surprise after all he went through in a few days and the lack of painkillers today. Hopefully, that's nothing more than that.
He's left with this huge scar in his skull, a peculiar head shape, and carious holes and scars which are healing quite rapidly.
All we got to do now is wait a couple more days for more tests and the decision of whether he'll have to go through another brain surgery.
