Una ecografia questa mattina ha confermato che la pressione sul cervello non ha ricominciato ad aumentare, sembra che l'ematoma si sia ridotto leggermente.
Questo significa che abbiamo un po' di tempo per studiare più a fondo le cause del problema e i prossimi passi. Una ulteriore operazione è ancora probablle, ma il piano attualmente è aspettare qualche giorno e vedere come evoluziona la situazione. Se non arrivano brutte sorprese, continuiamo con ecografie e esami regolari fino a lunedì o martedì prossimo, quando faremo una risonanza magnetica a diffusione, per vedere i dettagli.
Ma la notizia migliore del giorno è che hanno ridotto i calmanti e nel pomeriggio abbiamo assistito alla rimozione della respirazione assistita: Arnau respira di nuovo da solo!
Pochi minuti e la concentrazione di ossigeno nel sangue era di nuovo al massimo: è un campione!
Il cibo è ancora ridotto al minimo, ma mangia già il latte della mamma, attraverso una sonda gastrica: 8ml ogni 3 ore.
Speriamo domani sia un altro giorno di miglioramenti.

Another day in stable conditions: good news!
An ultrasound scan this morning confirmed that the pressure on the brain is not growing and the amount of blood in the affected area has actually sligthly decreased.
This gives the doctors some more time to study the problem, its causes and possible next steps. Another invasive surgery is still very much possible, but for now the plan is to wait a few more days, monitoring the evolution: that way Arnau can recover from a few very tough days and we can figure the best course of action with more data at hand.
The best news of the day has been the reduction of the sedation level and the removal of the assisted breathing machine: Arnau is breathing again on his own!
A few minutes later, oxigen concentration in his blood was back to the maximum level.
Food is now breast milk, even if it's through a stomach tube and quantity is limited: 8cc every 3 hours.
We hope in another day of improvements tomorrow.
