Grandi miglioramenti oggi! Big improvements today!

Oggi é stato un bel giorno di miglioramenti.
Tutto continua stabile (yeah!): se non sorgono problemi o sorprese, continua il piano di aspettare 3 o 4 giorni prima di fare la risonanza magnetica.
Nel frattempo, grande riunione di neurochirurghi, neonatologi e radiologi per avanzare nelle ipotesi della causa: per ora sembra che all'origine di tutto ci sia un trombo nel periodo di gestazione nel seno venoso sagittale, seguito poi da formazioni venose collaterali, che ha lasciato una zona molto delicata, che ha poi ceduto, forse durante il parto. In ogni caso, ancora possibile una ulteriore operazione la prossima settimana.

Ma veniamo ai miglioramenti di oggi:
- niente piú ossigeno d'aiuto
- niente piú morfina
- mangia di piú: a 8ml di ieri, a 30ml di questa mattina, a 45ml di questo pomeriggio, sempre via sonda gastrica, poi il primo biberon
- questa notte prima poppata!
(con un po' meno cavi e tubi, abbiamo potuto toglierlo dall'incubatrice ed é potuto stare un po' in braccio alla mamma)
- la voce sta tornando (le corde vocali ci mettono un po' a riprendersi da giorni di tubi)

Se tutto continua cosí, domani passiamo dalla zona dei neonati "critici" alla zona dei "semicritici".

Today it has been a good day with plenty of improvements.
Everything continues to be stable (yeah!): if there are no new problems or surprises, the plan is still to wait 3 or 4 more days before the next magnetic resonance.
In the meantime, big meeting between neurosurgeons, neonatologists and radiologists, to review the various hypothesis on the causes. Looks like at the source of the problem there's a thrombosis in the sagittal sinus which took place during pregnancy, causing the formation of a new system of collateral veins. That created a weak area, which finally broke, generating the bleeding, potentially during delivery.
In any case, a new surgery next week is still a possibility.

But let's get to the improvements of the day:
- no more oxygen to help breathing
- no more morfin
- Arnau eats a lot more: went from 8cc yesterday, to 30cc this morning, to 45cc in the afternoon, always via gastric tube, then the first bottle
- tonight, back to breast feeding!
(with less cables and tubes, we could better move him out of the incubator and mom could hold him for a while)
- voice is getting back to normal (vocal cords take a while to recover from days of breathing tubes)

If everything keeps going well, tomorrow Arnau might move from the "critical newborns" area to the "semi-critical newborns" area.
